Science Technician - Secondary Schools East London Full-Time | Term-Time Only | September 2026 Are you a practical, hands-on individual with a passion for supporting education? Do you have experience or interest in working with a Science lab? We are seeking a Science Technician to join secondary schools across East London. This exciting and varied role offers the opportunity to work alongside teachers and students, ensuring the smooth running of practical lessons and the safe operation of specialist equipment. Key Responsibilities: Assist teaching staff and students during practical sessions across a range of Science disciplines Demonstrate techniques and provide practical support and guidance during lessonsEnsure the safe and effective operation of tools, machinery, and equipment, conducting regular maintenance and safety checks
Manage stock and materials, monitor inventory, and place orders when required
Maintain a tidy, well-organised workshop environment that supports efficient teaching and learning
Support the creation of teaching aids, classroom displays, and project materials
Assist with the set-up and dismantling of exhibitions and student projects
Promote a strong health and safety culture, ensuring all practices meet current regulationsWhat We're Looking For: Previous experience in a workshop, lab, or technician role (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
Confident using and maintaining machinery, tools, and equipment safely
Strong organisational and communication skills
A proactive attitude and a willingness to support both staff and students
