Description
A leading quantitative trading and market-making firm is looking to hire a C++ Software Engineer to help design and build high-performance, low-latency trading systems that operate in highly competitive electronic markets.
This is an opportunity to join a technology-driven environment where engineering is central to the business. You'll work on systems that directly impact trading performance, collaborating closely with traders and other engineers to optimise speed, reliability, and scalability across the stack.
What you'll be doing- Designing and developing low-latency C++ systems used in real-time trading
- Building and optimising components across areas such as market data, order execution, exchange connectivity, and trading infrastructure
- Identifying and removing performance bottlenecks with a strong focus on latency, throughput, and determinism
- Working closely with trading and research teams to deliver robust, production-grade solutions
- Contributing to the architecture of highly resilient systems operating in fast-paced electronic markets
- Improving tooling, monitoring, and performance analysis capabilities across the platform
- Strong commercial experience in modern C++
- Background in building high-performance or low-latency systems
- Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, memory management, and systems-level optimisation
- Experience working in environments where performance and reliability are critical
- Strong problem-solving skills and a highly analytical mindset
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline preferred
- Experience in electronic trading, market making, HFT, or financial markets
- Knowledge of Linux systems programming, networking, and CPU-level performance tuning
- Familiarity with market data feed handlers, matching engines, or exchange protocols
- Exposure to profiling and performance debugging tools
- Work on business-critical trading technology with direct impact
