We are seeking a Principal Scientist and Group Leader, PKPD Modeling and Simulation who is passionate about advancing model informed drug development and mentoring the next generation of scientists. The Role
This position combines scientific leadership, client engagement, and people development. You will lead a team of modeling and simulation scientists while also serving as a Project Leader on client engagements. You will shape pharmacometric strategy, guide quantitative decision making, and contribute to the broader scientific community through publication and presentation.
This role may be hired at the Principal Scientist I or II level based on experience and demonstrated leadership impact.
What You Will Do
- Lead and mentor a group of PKPD modeling and simulation scientists
- Support the professional growth and scientific development of team members
- Design and implement quantitative, data driven pharmacometric strategies to guide drug development programs
- Perform and oversee modeling and simulation analyses supporting clinical trials and regulatory strategy
- Provide strategic drug development consultation and technical guidance to clients
- Contribute to business development through project scoping and proposal preparation
- Prepare and deliver reports and presentations for internal and external audiences
- Present and publish scientific findings
- Participate in company training initiatives as an instructor or contributor
- Advance the scientific and strategic goals of the organization
Requirements
What You Bring
- PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacokinetics, mathematics, statistics, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline, or a Master’s degree with substantial relevant experience
- 8+ years of postgraduate experience in modeling and simulation
- Demonstrated experience leading individuals or teams
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills
- Deep expertise in PKPD and pharmacometrics within drug development
- Proficiency in tools such as NONMEM, MONOLIX, STAN
- Experience with R, SAS, or similar statistical programming platforms
- Experience with Bayesian data analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
