As a Lead Software Engineer in the Equity Derivatives Technology group, you are an integral part of an agile team that enhances, builds, and delivers trusted technology products. You will work directly with internal and external clients, applying your technical expertise to develop secure, stable, and scalable solutions. You will contribute to a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect, while expanding your knowledge of derivatives processing and securitized products.
Job Responsibilities:
- Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond conventional approaches to solve complex problems.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code, review and debug code written by others.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues, improving operational stability.
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials.
- Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and adoption of new technologies.
- Add to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Extensive knowledge and experience working with Java enterprise-level applications.
- Strong technology background with the ability to quickly understand new technologies and troubleshoot complex problems.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile).
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and IT systems.
- Practical cloud native experience.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Experience delivering complex change in a Financial Services organization.
- Working knowledge of Equities and common derivative products, and the product lifecycle.
