About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Statistics Director to join our Team and lead strategic statistical innovation across GSK's Vaccines and Infectious Disease portfolio. You will be at the forefront of innovation, driving advanced statistical methodologies and translating insights into actionable strategies that influence global health outcomes. Key Responsibilities
Lead statistical strategy across multiple complex project workstreams, ensuring alignment with business objectives and scientific rigor. Act as a subject matter expert in statistical innovation, providing guidance and support to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Implement advanced methodologies such as causal inference and machine learning, and real-world data (RWD) analytics. Stay up to date with industry advancements and emerging trends in statistical methodology and identify opportunities to apply them to GSK's research and development efforts.
Translate data-driven insights into clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
Foster collaboration across diverse internal and external stakeholders, including Discovery, R&D, Medical Affairs, and other strategic partners.
Champion innovation by introducing cutting-edge approaches that enhance project outcomes. Collaborate with other statistical leaders within the company to drive a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
People leadership:
Lead a high-performing team of statisticians.
Mentor and develop talent, fostering technical excellence and career growth.

Qualifications & Experience
PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field preferred with 10+ years of industry experience, or MSc and 15+ years of industry experience, with a proven track record of innovation and strategic influence in pharmaceutical development.
Deep expertise in advanced statistical methodologies, including causal inference and machine learning, and in leveraging real-world data to inform clinical development plans.
Demonstrated ability to influence strategic decisions through data-driven insights, with a track record for global scientific leadership in the development and evaluation of modern program/trial design methodologies.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience navigating cross-functional and external partnerships.
Strong leadership capabilities, able to drive alignment and maintain focus on program goals.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to explain novel and standard methods to scientific and clinical colleagues.
Experience in capability building within organizations.
