Description

The Application Test Engineer – Business Systems ensures the quality, reliability, and business readiness of enterprise applications supporting operational, financial, and customer processes. The role bridges technical testing with business process validation, ensuring systems meet functional requirements, regulatory standards, and stakeholder expectations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Design and execute test plans and test cases for business-critical applications (ERP, CRM, finance, HR, supply chain systems).

Analyse business requirements, process flows, and functional specifications to define comprehensive test coverage.

Validate end-to-end business workflows including data integrity, approvals, reporting, and integrations.

Perform system testing, integration testing, regression testing, and UAT coordination.

Identify, record, and manage defects using defect management tools and ensure timely resolution.

Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and developers to clarify acceptance criteria and functional behaviour.

Validate compliance with internal controls, data protection, and operational standards.

Support release cycles through deployment verification and post-implementation validation.

Maintain detailed test documentation including traceability matrices, test evidence, and quality reports.

Recommend improvements to testing efficiency, automation coverage, and business process quality.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology with additional qualification or experience in Business / Management / International Business, or equivalent professional experience.
